What's new?

The scene was that St Philips had played reasonably well so far and RM1 would need to overcome them to gain a credible place in the tournament. The team for this match was our nominated 1st pair T1- Tom and Khalid , and T2- myself and Dan Martyrs(guest appearance - to reinforce the team).

Tom and Khalid played their 1st pair with ease while myself and Dan M got through their 2nd pair (the opponent just watching in awe every time Dan M smashed) - Myself included🧐. Tom and Khalid giving a mix of power smashes and placements to get through their 2nd pair utilising 3 rubbers. Dan M and myself went through with ease on our second round as Dan M's big smashes were just too hot to handle đŸ”„đŸ”„.

By now we're 4-0 to Trinity and change of teams with our 3rd pair Khalid and Dan M who comfortably got through their games without breaking a sweat. Myself and Tom being out 4th pair ,e went to 3 rubbers with Tom displaying some ace smashes and was quite close with both teams @ 18 in the third rubber. However after some rallies and cross smash replies from the opponent, the battle ended with St Philips winning a game... ...All in all a respectable 5-1 to Trinity with team morale high for the next games. We face St Philips @ home court on our return leg. Another win against them and Lutterworth would secure our position in this tournamentđŸ’ȘđŸ’Ș.

Well done RM1 and great effort by all. Thanks to Dan M for guest appearance.👍👍

Well, what a difference a Darren makes!! No Tabs this week, so we had our super sub and went for a mixed format.

Darren & Ruth as 1st pair winning their games without much trouble.

Hitesh & Tracey beat the 2nd pair in 2, but had close games against their 1st, eventually winning 25-23, 16-21, 21-19
phew!!

On the split Darren & Tracey took both games against the 2 men, while Hitesh & Ruth took on the mixed pair, taking their games easily 21-7 & 21-9.

So a 6 - 0 victory for Trinity3 😃

Short and sweet, it’s a clean sweep 6 - 0 win to Trinity. Alex & Billy have joined us for the match as Daz celebrating his 70th Birthday 😉

There are replacements with the opponents have brought completely fresh team.

We reached early and already decided the pairing would be Dan & Alex , Kiranam & Billy as first pair. We couldn’t start the game at the set time as one of their opponents first pair went missing for 15 min. Quick chat with Alex, we agreed to play without penalising the opponents. Alex & Dan have quickly finished their first game with good net play & smashes, no troubles expected from the pair. Kiranam & Billy equally have shown the strength with opponents first pair with rock solid smashes from Billy, have mostly dead in opponents court with no returns. It’s easy driving the game for us, has got an easy rubber with no sweat. We got both rubbers and had quick chat not to relax and get the remaining before celebrating. Alex said, it would be majorly disastrous, if we can’t get these games and no troubles, we saw each other again with smiley faces getting all 4 rubbers 😁 we just need to close the remaining on the split Alex & Billy playing in the league for the first time has no troubles getting the rubber and on other hand myself & Dan had a relax game brought Trinity a 6 - 0 win.

These games are must win for RM2 as rest of the teams have beat this team. Our next match is mid Feb with QDJC, keep you all posted on the results 😁
