RM1 vs Lutterworth 1 (H)

We played with Lutterworth 1 who have had some extensive tournament experience over the years. Our RM1 team comprising of Team 1 : Tom and Khalid and Team 2 being Ben and myself. We had a great start with Tom and Khalid taking their 1st team with some brilliant close net drops and deep smashes. Having trained together on club nights, they won their first game for team Trinity without breaking a sweat. A similar outcome with Ben and myself in our game facing their 2nd pair. Ben displayed some great finishes and body shots. Tom and Khalid took their 2nd pair with some good footwork and serves keeping trinity @ 3- 0. Ben and myself faced their 1st pair during which I landed incorrectly on my left ankle which didn't help, thereby losing the game.

Myself and Tom played their 3rd pair with the same result. We were 3-2 at this point. Ben and Khalid were facing their 4th pair and it came down to a nail biting third rubber decider during which there was exchange of words between the 2 teams (disagreement on the scores). By now all our club night players watched as they showed support to Khalid and Ben who kept going. It seemed neck to neck until the last moment. Alas, our boys took the final few points with clinical precision, thereby winning the third rubber 21-18. Overall 4-2, win to RM1. Well done team RM1💪👍 and a big shout of thanks to all our club members for their support.

LM1 vs Loughbrough Leys 3 (H)

First outing for LM1 vs Loughbrough Leys 3. The opposition offered up some good pairings but we had a strong side of our own. Halfway point and the numbers read 2 a piece. Going into the second half with the time pressure fully heaped on we managed to seal the extra 3 games. Dan/Alex had just gone on against their 3rds and Shaz/Ian against the 2nds with 10mins of play time left. That nabbed us a last minute rubber. At one point it was a count down to a point per minute. Unfortunately Ian/ Shaz were robbed of their last game as time was called so we had to conceed a rubber! 6-3 to Trinity all washed down with a trip to the pub . Great to be back and great games. Well done team💪👍🥳🍻

Sadly our team lost 5 v 1, but we were definitely not a walk over for them, with 4 of the 6 matches going to 3 games!! Well played Tabs, Ruth & Hitesh. I have high hopes for our next match 😁
