Match Report 13th February 2019 RB2 v St Phillips III (H)

This was a straight forward victory in the end, 5 v 1, but this is the 1st team we’ve played that played like a mixed pair against us. They struggled with the feathers especially on serving, so Sam & I beat their 1st pair fairly easily and Phil / Ruth had a good win against their 2nd pair. On the switch round, their pairings were less effective, so Sam/Ruth took theirs easy. Me/Phil struggled a bit in the first game, but got enough points ahead in the 2nd to get a good win.

NH1 vs Meltonshire (H)

So we all turned up with the Friday feeling and took the decision to mix the teams up slightly so Paired Martin and Andrea together who won 3 games (the only 3 won of the night well done guys), Annabelle and Nathan and me and Sam despite some very close games we couldn't quite secure a win however overall we all had fun and there were some very good games of badminton😊👌 well done everyone!

Match Report 6th February 2019

LM2 vs Huncote III (H)

What a great performance from everyone tonight, convincingly winning against Huncote who has took a 6-3 win from us away a couple of months ago. Mixed the pairs up a bit for this one, by splitting Sam and Alex’s long standing pair up. This meant that Sam was with Anand, Alex was with Dan, and myself with Rich. There’s honestly not a great deal to say as we’d all won everyone game... well... accept one... but I’m not naming any names. Let’s just say their names rhyme with Dalex and Aan. But that’s no skin off of our back, and did not reflect the rest of their performance. They did have an interesting last game went to something like 30-28

or 29-27 (I’ve had mixed messages so we’ve settled on the latter), which could have meant a rubber lost, but being he troopers that they are, they pulled it out the bag to confirm the 9-0. Really all we can do now is prepare for our potential league deciding matches against Croakers. I think we’ve got what it takes, but we’ll just have to train hard and see.

Well played guys, proud captain 👏👏👏
