What's new?

First of all congratulations to Paul for making his debut for the club after a weeks delay.

Playing our 2nd match of the seasons against QDjC 1 who had already played 2 and won 2 both 6 nil we were expecting a tough game before the fixture got under way. Continuing with Adib and Prem as pair 1 they comfortably beat the oppeitikn first pair 21 - 11, 21 - 5 and the second pair 21 - 5 , 21 - 9.

Hitesh and Paul played as pair 2 and won their both games against their second pair 21 - 6, 21 - 6 and the first pair 21 - 13, 21 - 8. Ended up not as tough but infact veey easy going into the split 4 - 0.

The split was a mere formality for Trinity with Adib/Paul winning 21 - 12, 21 - 8 and Hitesh/Prem winning 21 - 8, 21 - 15.

Trinity win 6 - 0 and thats 2 out 2 so far.

Must mention top effort marks for Prem. Getting bsck home at 6pm from holiday and here he was at 8pm in his badminton gear ready for the match.

There is history of temperament between the two teams, when they clash on the court. We all talk about the games from last year and the fun & famous action packed win still remembered.

Regulars Sam & Ben are off for the game, so a last minute call to Chris & Shaz kindly agreed to jump in with Jack & Kiranam. Surprise Lutterworth 1 changed to feathers is a big plus.

Jack & Kiranam started as first pair received tough competition has lost the two games to 13 & 18. At one point, we’re above 3 points but the unforced & service errors caused the damage. Mistakes followed and continued with the second pair losing the games to 15 & 11.

Chris & Shaz started with their second pair won the two games with excellent movement and smashes that opponents couldn’t reach beyond 13 & 8. Experienced Lutterworth first pair struggled with excellent drops & net shots from our pair had lost the games to 18 & 17 respectively. We’re 2 - 2 rubbers reach at half way split and Chris mentioned, don’t worry still in our control.

Splitting Chris & Jack with their first split had very fast smashing games finished quick winning the rubber to 13 & 18 points. Shaz & Kiranam with the second split is the most fun filled, as we could see Lutterworth digging the floor to get the drops from Shaz. We could hear they groan to get every drop from Shaz giggled us throughout both the games. They couldn’t get beyond 9 & 13 points winning the rubber for us.

It’s* *4 - 2 win to* *Trinity** and we could hear Lutterworth moaning the loss, as they beat rest teams in division already. Well done boys (Chris, Shaz , Jack) for the first RM1 win.

The first of many clashes against Loughborough uni students this season.

Dan & Chris had a slow start against the first pair and did come back, but not enough to claw the first end back. Nevertheless they got them in three 21-23 21-13 21-17. Their other two pairs didn't manage much, and they beat them 21-5 21-9 and 21-8 21-13.

Ian & Shaz first faced their second pair and took it home 21-16 21-13, and finished against their third pair winning 21-17 21-16. In between those, they had a tough one against the first pair and never got into gear, losing out 15-21 8-21.

Khalid & Tom took the third and second pairs 21-19 21-13 and 23-21 21-15 respectively. In the last rubber of the night against their first pair they lost the first end 18-21 after being up 18-15 and dropped the second end 17-21.

A good 7-2 win to Trinity, with L'boro students 2 away in waiting next...
