This was it. The match where if LM1 won, we would secure our promotion to division 2 – something which has never been achieved in Trinity history. Let’s talk more about it.
Pre-match there was concerns about Tom not turning up in time due to his train running late, however all that panic was for nothing as he was one of the first there with Vice Captain Chris! 😂 Melton were eager to start playing so we started after a 10 minute warm up. Captain Phil was present to observe the game and ensure the scoresheet was getting filled in correctly, which of course it was! 😊
Chris & Dan were our first pair. Dan shared he wasn’t in prime condition due to playing a tournament over the weekend, however he turned up the gas and him and Chris won all of their games with relative ease. There was one game against their third pair where Chris & Dan won 21 – 3!
Shaz & Ian who were our second pair took all their games with no difficulty. They ate everything Melonshire threw at them and turned the tables on them in their usual aggression fashion which was a sight to behold.
Alex and Tom our final pair – who have not really played much together all season, won all of their games comfortably. They had some excellent streaks and the opposition managed to creep behind them but they were able to win through aggression and skill.
So…. A result of 9 – 0! 🥳 🥳 🥳
We are absolutely buzzing to have achieved the promotion which we have tried and failed for many years. A big shout out to Shaz and Dan helping us attain this achievement. Our last match will be against Meltonshire again on the 10th May 2022. After that, we will be collecting our Trophy in June!

This was a decider match for RM1 and a win or draw required to secure the league. .. RM1 nominated pair Khalid and Tom played their first game with an easy first rubber, however much to their surprise and disappointment the other 2 rubbers were taken by the opponents thereby costing us our first game😣. Meanwhile Billy and myself played our second pair and with Billy's smashes 🏸and quick recovery only meant the opponents couldn't keep up🔥. It was 1 each for both teams by now.
Moving on, Tom and Khalid swiftly won their second pair with good court coverage and timely smashes, alternating with unexpected drops.🤩. Billy and myself couldnt keep the same form with their first pair losing the third rubber by inches. In the split were Tom and myself where Tom was playing with good form and some good chemistry and clinical precision 🥼on the court meant straight 2 games for Rm1. We were 3-2 at this point and the final game wherein Billy and Khalid did their best to defend their side with repeated smashes and drops. It did however end up in favour of the hunters and we ended the night with 3-3 draw.
A couple of friendlies followed before concluding the evening. With this, RM1 is presently leading the league chart👍👍. With another final match scheduled in April @ home (against st Philips) we hope to win this season on a strong note. It will be the final match from the Rugby league and support from the club members as always will be great....🌈🌈

Wow!! What a team effort. Captain has got guidance and whole team played their best in winning the match 4-2 against st. Philips 2 on their home turf. Thanks to Ben, Daz & Sam all for the wonderful games & guidance.
Pre-match discussions, we want to fight the match with the standard RM2 players and pairing was to go with strong first pairing Daz & Ben and second pairing Kiranam & Sam. Daz promised 2 rubbers from him, so he needs his Red Bull so a quick stop driving on A5 and getting adrenal ready for the games. St.Philips brought their best pairing from their first team, as it’s must win for them to be in competition. Their first pair has senior player with trick drops & drives. Daz & Ben - what a performance!! I’ve stopped to watch them in multiple long rallies and it’s a well fought win. Kiranam & Sam had a slow start loosing first game to 13, but fought back the next 2 games to get the rubber secured 2 rubbers for Trinity. Sam played his best in recent times (may be). Our first pair has no struggle beating their second pair got us 3 rubbers put us in safe zone. Kiranam & Sam playing their pair, fought hard with their first pair games went to 3 but lost for few tricky shots. Mood is that , we will get the remaining as everyone is in good energy putting their best in the court. Ben & Sam playing wonderfully - no struggle winning the rubber secured the match.
Daz & Kiranam - the last rubber was nerve wracking. Daz controlled his flick servers through out the games played fantabulous. Rubber went to the 3rd game, but unfortunately Kiranam has twisted & bruised his right leg barely able to move wanted to retire, but Dr. Daz physio technique boosted Kiranam back to replay the game. It’s hard playing with one legged man, but we were there in the game till 20th point. Unfortunately they can see Kiranam wimping targeted forehand drops finished the rubber in their favour. Well celebrated 4-2 win is only possible as the whole team gave their best. Well done guys 👍👍 best games to remember.
